I had reported to some at the range that a bill had been passed that would waive certain fees for persons that were certified in CPR ... now, however we find this:
This is what the Contact Center is telling customers:
House Bill 1078 (86th Legislative Session) authorizes the waiver of certain application and renewal fees if the individual holds a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or another nationally recognized association and is not required to hold the certification as a condition of obtaining or maintaining employment or a professional license.
"The bill requires DPS waive the license fees for holders of CPR certifications only if the legislature appropriates money specifically for that purpose. However, funding was not appropriated for this purpose. For this reason, the Department will not implement HB 1078 at this time."
